Is it safe to have a breast augmentation during this time?
It is important to consider COVID-19 statistics in your region. Understanding the prevalence of COVID-19 in your community can aid in your decision to continue with a surgical procedure, including breast augmentation.
At Synergy Plastic Surgery, our board certified surgeons operate out of our very own facilities – Surgical Suites of Austin and Stonegate Surgery Center.
In light of this pandemic, our facilities have implemented strong protocols and screenings to ensure your safety, as well as the safety of our staff and providers.
The safety of our patients are of utmost importance. We have implemented all necessary protocols and precautions to ensure the safety and wellness of our patients and staff. Saliva COVID tests are mandatory for of all of our patients before surgery.
What else should I consider before surgery and what steps is Synergy Plastic Surgery taking to keep me safe?
Although the mask mandate has ended in Texas, Synergy Plastic Surgery still requires our patients and staff to wear masks in our clinic. This is to ensure the safety and wellness of both our patients and staff.
As a medical facility, Synergy Plastic Surgery has and will always maintained proper and efficient protocols. We have updated and continue to enforce office protocols in accordance to CDC guidelines during the COVID-19 pandemic. This includes requiring that all patients wear a mask or facial covering while in our facility. In order to ensure the safety of our patients and staff, screening questions and temperature checks will be performed upon arrival, and hand sanitizer is available in our office as well.
As a prospective candidate for surgery, consider the availability of testing for COVID-19. Along with all necessary preoperative measures, Synergy Plastic Surgery ensures proper testing for the virus prior to surgery. Our facilities carry personal protective equipment (PPE) and have adequate staffing to support and employ our new protocols and routines in order to ensure maximum safety. Furthermore, our facilities offer COVID-19 testing at our clinics to make the process even easier for our patients.
Furthermore, all prospective surgery patients should be healthy prior to surgery. Preexisting conditions such as immune deficiencies, asthma, neurologic disorders, etc. should be discussed at the time of your consultation. One of our board certified surgeons will go over all medical considerations and determine if the procedure you are considering is safe and appropriate.
What are steps I can take to heal efficiently from a cosmetic surgery procedure?
After surgery, we ask that you consider a 7-day social isolation period to reduce incidence of a new exposure and infection as feasible, excluding needed post-op visits in our office. As previously stated, Synergy Plastic Surgery ensures safe protocols and practices within our facility to protect our patients and staff during this time.
Many patients are taking advantage of this time to effectively quarantine as well as heal safely from surgery at home!
