Her breast reconstruction involved three stages: initially an expander was placed at the time of mastectomy, after expanding her breasts over about two months the expanders were removed and a silicone breast implant was placed, two months after this nipples were reconstructed and some fat was transferred from her abdomen into the breasts to make them more full.

While this patient chose a heart shaped approach to areolar tattooing the results are still unique and beautiful. Most patients opt for an areolar tattoo that most closely matched their native breast.
