This 57-year-old patient from Austin, Texas came to our doctors after being diagnosed with breast cancer and facing the need for a mastectomy. Our doctors discussed breast reconstruction options with her in great detail for about an hour, and ultimately they decided on a breast tissue expander that would be placed at the same time as the mastectomy. In a staged approach we then placed soft breast implants, reconstructed her nipples, and transferred fat with liposuction techniques from her abdomen to her breasts to further improve her results.
