Reconstruction - Breast Cancer Before & After Case 342

This 32-year-old female came to see our doctors to discuss breast reconstruction options. She had been diagnosed with a left sided breast cancer and wanted to pursue reconstruction after a planned nipple sparing mastectomy in Austin, Texas.

Our doctor met with her for about an hour on her initial visit. He showed her pictures and discussed options.

This photo shows the patient several months after her final surgery. She went two operations for the reconstruction. At the first stage a breast expander was placed and at the second stage the expander was removed, an implant was placed, and fat grafting was performed. Her initial mastectomy was nipple sparing so she did not need additional nipple reconstruction.
