Because every woman is unique, every Mommy Makeover is unique as well. During your consultation, your surgeon will take the time to listen to your cosmetic goals and help you decide which combination of procedures will provide your desired improvements. Popular options include:
Tummy Tuck
A tummy tuck improves your abdominal area by addressing the bulges that diet and exercise cannot. This is generally a combination of removing loose skin and repairing stretched abdominal muscles for a flatter tummy. A tummy tuck can also improve the appearance of a C-section scar and reshape the bellybutton.
Breast Augmentation
Adding volume to the breasts with either saline or silicone breast implants, breast augmentation can restore the breast size you had before your baby or give you the fuller breast size you’ve always wanted. Fat grafting can provide a subtler increase in breast size if you’re looking for an alternative to implants.

Liposuction
Liposuction provides a lasting way to reduce areas of stubborn fat — specifically, those pockets of fat that do not respond to even your best efforts at fitness and nutrition. Our doctors use this versatile procedure to address areas as diverse as the neck, thighs, and love handles.
Breast Lift
Breast lift surgery rejuvenates breasts stretched during pregnancy and breastfeeding. The goal of this procedure is to raise the breasts to a higher position and restore a firm, youthful breast shape. The nipples may be reshaped during this procedure as well.

Breast Augmentation Revision
If you had breast implant surgery earlier in life and want to improve your breast size or shape after pregnancy and breastfeeding, breast augmentation revision can help. It can be a good time to replace saline implants with newer, more natural-feeling silicone implants.
Labiaplasty
Labiaplasty reduces and reshapes enlarged, stretched, and misshapen labia. Benefits include enhanced confidence and increased comfort during sexual intercourse or vigorous exercise.
Fat Grafting
Also known as fat transfer, fat grafting involves the transfer of surplus fat from one area of the body to another area that needs augmentation or improvement. It is commonly used to add volume to the breasts and buttocks.
That said, there is no set combination of procedures for a Mommy Makeover. You may choose from the above or other procedure options. Together, you and your surgeon will develop a custom surgical plan based on your unique aesthetic goals.
If you are considering breast augmentation as part of your Mommy Makeover, you can schedule a breast implant “test drive”. This private, informative appointment with one of our patient coordinators will give you a chance to ask questions, feel actual breast implants, and even try on implants of varying sizes before you schedule a consultation with one of our plastic surgeons.

How Long Does Recovery From a Mommy Makeover Take?
The specifics of your Mommy Makeover recovery will vary quite a bit based on the combination of procedures you choose, but to give you an idea of what to expect, we list our postoperative instructions for many procedures online. There are also some common experiences among all patients, no matter which procedures they choose:
Mommy Makeovers are typically outpatient procedures. You will most likely be able to return home on the day of surgery.
Soreness, swelling, and bruising develop in the first days following your procedure. Take this time to let others help you around the house, especially with the care of your children.
While you should curb all strenuous physical activity for the first week or two, you should take short walks around the house to maintain healthy blood flow.
We will schedule your initial follow-up visit within the first week after surgery and maintain regular contact to ensure you are healing normally.
When Will I See My Mommy Makeover Results?
The timeline for your final results will vary somewhat based on the procedures in your Mommy Makeover. In general, however, you can expect your results to continue to emerge and improve over the first 3 to 6 months after surgery.
The results of a Mommy Makeover should last at least 10 years or more. You can preserve these results by maintaining a stable weight and healthy lifestyle.
Our Convenient Locations Serving Austin
Wherever you are in Austin, Synergy Plastic Surgery isn't far away. With multiple strategically placed locations, exceptional aesthetic services have never been more accessible.
The answer to this question is a highly personal one, but most patients would answer with a resounding “yes.” Mommy Makeovers have a 95% “Worth It” rating on the patient review site RealSelf, one of the highest ratings of all plastic surgery procedures.
What is the most common combination of procedures in a Mommy Makeover?
The “classic” version of a Mommy Makeover consists of a breast enhancement procedure and a tummy tuck, often with liposuction to sculpt the waistline and reduce stubborn pockets of abdominal fat.
What is the advantage of combining procedures?
There is a variety of benefits of combining procedures, including:
Cost. By combining procedures, you will pay certain costs only once (e.g., use of a surgical facility, anesthesia fees). Read our Pricing page to learn more.
Recovery time. While it can be challenging to take time out for surgery and recovery, combining procedures means you are also consolidating your recovery periods instead of having a separate recovery period for each procedure.
Comprehensive results. It can be very rewarding and empowering to have multiple concerns addressed with a single surgery.
How soon after having children can I have a Mommy Makeover?
Pregnancy itself is a major stressor on the body, and at a minimum, we generally recommend that moms hold off at least 6 months to give their bodies time to heal and get back to normal. However, if you decide to breastfeed, you will need to wait at least 3 months after you’ve weaned your baby.
Please also keep in mind that a Mommy Makeover will inhibit your ability to engage in physical activity for a few weeks — including lifting your children. For this reason, you may want to delay the procedure until your baby is a bit older.
I plan to have more children. Is it OK for me to have a Mommy Makeover?
Anatomically speaking, yes. Having a Mommy Makeover will not change your ability to have more children or carry them to term safely. However, just as pregnancy has caused the changes you are now seeking to correct, a subsequent pregnancy after surgery will likely produce very similar unwanted changes.
We strongly recommend that patients wait to have a Mommy Makeover until they are sure they do not want to have any more children.
Is Mommy Makeover surgery only for mothers?
You do not have to be a mother to get a Mommy Makeover. The surgery got its name because the combination of procedures addresses many of the most common post-pregnancy cosmetic concerns; however, it’s also beneficial for anyone looking to reclaim their body after significant weight loss or other major changes.
