This 31-year-old female came to see our doctors wanting to transform her abdomen and breasts following pregnancy and post-bariatric weight loss surgery. After having her children and losing nearly 130 lbs of excess weight she was left with a stomach that looked deflated and skin that was loose and wrinkled. Like many Austin, Texas area women she decided to make an appointment with our doctors to see what options were available for rejuvenation of her breasts and abdomen.
During her consultation, our doctors pointed out that an abdominoplasty or tummy tuck would be needed to tighten both her stomach skin and the muscles underneath. Our doctor explained that because she now had little fat on her abdomen a small vertical scar would be necessary in addition to the horizontal incision at the level of her underwear line to ensure that all the loose skin was removed.
In surgery, our doctor was able to remove nearly all of her stretch marks and all of the loose skin from her stomach. The result was a dramatic improvement in both abdominal skin and muscle tone, kept her incisions low on her tummy so that she can continue to wear all types of clothing. The small vertical incision is barely noticeable and was a good trade for the improvement in her abdominal contour.
When she returned for her final follow-up photos she was thrilled with her new body and wished she had come to see our doctor sooner after losing her weight and completing her pregnancy. She had already purchased a new wardrobe and was looking forward to the warm summer weather.
