This 38-year-old mother of two who lives in Round Rock came to see our doctors at the Austin, Texas area plastic and cosmetic surgery practice interested in rejuvenation of her abdominal area. She underwent abdominal liposuction two years prior but was not happy with the results. She had also lost nearly 50 pounds through diet and exercise. She wanted to tighten her abdominal skin and remove the excess skin the hanged below her underwear line.
During her complimentary consultation with our doctor, he explained that liposuction alone will not remove excess skin from her abdominal area. He examined her carefully and determined that a full abdominoplasty (tummy tuck) with both removal of excess skin and fat as well as tightening of her abdominal muscles underneath would really help to give her a flatter stomach and a real hour glass figure.
Her surgery was performed at St. David’s Medical Center in Round Rock, Texas. Our doctor believes that all surgeries should be performed in a hospital setting for safety. Prior to her operation our doctor arrived to make careful marks on her stomach to use as a guide during surgery. Her operation was completed in approximately 2 ½ hours and she slept soundly throughout it. After surgery she spent a few hours in recovery and then went home with her husband that night.
While she couldn’t lift anything heavy for 6 weeks the results of her surgery were evident almost immediately. Her tummy was tightened and her extra skin and fat were gone. Her clothes fit better and she really felt better about herself and her body.
